Construction commenced this week on the mixed-use retail and housing development which incorporates urban design principles, a signature of Studio One Eleven. These include a large setback for pedestrian movement and both restaurant and retail use, flexible and engaging plaza, and scaled articulation of the massing which gradually steps from bustling Santa Monica Blvd to the more intimate neighborhood of multi-family properties on the north side. Domain’s design approach aims to reinforce the ethos of the existing community through its transitional massing, infusion of urban elements and reflection of the surrounding environment.
